BREAKING: Leaked UN Climate Text Confirms What We've Been Saying (AKA The Real ClimateGate)

The Real Climate-gate:
This is a real smoking gun,
and the smoke is coming from a scorched earth.

Civil Society Reacts Furiously to Leaked UN Document

COPENHAGEN -- Earlier this afternoon, leaked documents from the Secretariat emerged that demonstrate conclusively what we’ve been saying for months: the proposals now on the board would increase the planet’s temperature more than three degrees, and drive the concentration of co2 in the atmosphere above 550 ppm.

The leaked documents—which have the name of 350.org founder Bill McKibben scrawled across the top, for reasons we don’t know—make it clear that any claim that negotiators are aiming to hold temperature increases to 1.5 or 2 degrees are sham.

...............

A leaked copy of an official UN assessment just emerged from the talks--it says quite clearly that the proposals now on the table will yield temperature increases of at least 3 degrees Celsius. This is what the Climate Interactive folks have been saying all along, news that's been reflected on the front of our website. But now the UN is saying it, and they're adding--in one of the classic examples of bureaucratic understatement of all time, that the estimated temperature rise of 3 degrees “will reduce significantly the probability to stay within a temperature increase of 2 degrees Celsius.” You think?

...........................
"...the UN itself knew it all along and kept going with the pious insistence that they were working towards two degrees is beyond infuriating. This is a real smoking gun, and the smoke is coming from a scorched earth. And nothing Obama says tomorrow will change that, unless he speaks honestly and forthrightly about how far below the goals we really are."

1. As usual, we'll get the worst of both worlds:
1) we - working people of all countries - will be paying through the nose, while Goldman and pals will be making billions from cap and trade (the new market bubble, says Matt Taibbi). Corrupt governments and contractors will pocket the rest. Less developed countries will be paying huge fines going into who knows whose pockets, instead of investing that money in untangling themselves from coal-based energy. Meanwhile...
2) ... all the expenses will do no good, because the spending won't be enough to stop the warming.

A boon for the corporations, and pox on the rest of us. Raise your hand whoever didn't see THAT coming.

2. What does this mean? Is this better than no agreement or ?
I haven't been about to follow this fiasco as HCR has been sucking up all the air in the room.

What were the alternatives and is this the latest agreement that Obama brokered?
