Right winger letter asking a General to overthrow the President....
Someone on Youtube made a video and mentioned this letter. It apparently was recently written by a right winger who (supposedly) mailed it to United States Army Generals asking them essentially to violently overthrow our current Democratic elected officials.

At first I thought it was amusing right wing rants from some loser on the internet, but when I actually finished reading it I realize this guy may actually be dangerous.

This is a link to the letter. Does anyone think this should be reported to the Secret Service? There is an undertone that this guy might actually do something.

3. If he really mailed it to generals
I suspect they do.

The last paragraph though really sends off red flags.

2. Hope the General is the equivalent of Gen. Smedley Darlington Butler.

THE BUSINESS PLOT TO OVERTHROW ROOSEVELT

In the summer of 1933, shortly after Roosevelt's "First 100 Days," America's richest businessmen were in a panic. It was clear that Roosevelt intended to conduct a massive redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor. Roosevelt had to be stopped at all costs.

The answer was a military coup. It was to be secretly financed and organized by leading officers of the Morgan and Du Pont empires. This included some of America's richest and most famous names of the time:

Irenee Du Pont - Right-wing chemical industrialist and founder of the American Liberty League, the organization assigned to execute the plot.

Grayson Murphy - Director of Goodyear, Bethlehem Steel and a group of J.P. Morgan banks.

William Doyle - Former state commander of the American Legion and a central plotter of the coup.

John Davis - Former Democratic presidential candidate and a senior attorney for J.P. Morgan.

Al Smith - Roosevelt's bitter political foe from New York. Smith was a former governor of New York and a codirector of the American Liberty League.

John J. Raskob - A high-ranking Du Pont officer and a former chairman of the Democratic Party. In later decades, Raskob would become a "Knight of Malta," a Roman Catholic Religious Order with a high percentage of CIA spies, including CIA Directors William Casey, William Colby and John McCone.
Robert Clark - One of Wall Street's richest bankers and stockbrokers.

Gerald MacGuire - Bond salesman for Clark, and a former commander of the Connecticut American Legion. MacGuire was the key recruiter to General Butler.

The plotters attempted to recruit General Smedley Butler to lead the coup. They selected him because he was a war hero who was popular with the troops. The plotters felt his good reputation was important to make the troops feel confident that they were doing the right thing by overthrowing a democratically elected president. However, this was a mistake: Butler was popular with the troops because he identified with them. That is, he was a man of the people, not the elite. When the plotters approached General Butler with their proposal to lead the coup, he pretended to go along with the plan at first, secretly deciding to betray it to Congress at the right moment.

I have not seen one Duer suggest a military coup.
I do not pretend to be angry about the current HCR bill and the lose of real reform. I have been working for close to twenty years on this issue and this bill is not reform, damn right I'm angry.
To say our disapproval of a bill equates to hatred and support of a military coup is sick and shows how little you know about the people on this board.
Most of us have seen loved ones suffer and die because of the Insurance Industries greed.
I watched my 13 year old son crippled and nearly die in 1991 because of denials and delays in care ( I had really great Health Insurance).
So don't presume we are pretending, you know nothing about us.

10. Hey don't claim something if it doesn't belong to you..
did I say you specifically now if you are one of the teabaggers who are on board DU then I will say many of them are, because they condone what is being said at these rallies and it doesn't take a fool to not read between the lines.

Don't use your son to attack me because this has nothing to do with your son. By the way do you know everyone on DU? and are you a teabagger?

11. Open Wide
You were the one using a very broad brush, I will ask you again where have you seen a DUer advocating a military coup such as what was in the OP.
HCR, which has now become Health Insurance Reform, that has little or no reform does have everything to do with my son and many others who have chronic conditions.
btw it seems you are the one claiming to know MANY (with comments like "a lot of these people") on DU and their reasons for criticizing HRC and other polices of Obama's Administration.

The only one attacking is you. You used the OP as a reason to bash DUer's who are critical of this administrations policies that are not in line with the Democratic Platform.
