MoveOn.Org Comes Out Against Senate Health Care Billl
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 05:10 PM by AllentownJake
WASHINGTON — The liberal group MoveOn.org is opposing the Senate health care bill and urging Democrats to block it.

In a letter to members Friday, MoveOn.org complained that the legislation has no government-run insurance option and no expansion of Medicare.

It urged its members to sign a petition saying, "American needs real health care reform – not a massive giveaway to the insurance companies."

The letter also called on members to send a message to Senate progressives such as Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Roland Burris of Illinois and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin to "block this bill until it's fixed."

I wonder if the White House regrets their personal attack on Howard Dean today.

4. Politically
The White House played the Dean remarks so insanely stupid. Commenting on it and taking a personal swipe got Dean booked on every show for 5 days.

Seriously dude, just stick to the issues and quit jumping on the trendy "phrase" or "hero" bandwagon.

6. My friend, who is 59, and has severe fibromyalgia and bone disease
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 05:18 PM by Mari333
is taking no medication for either of them. she has no money for it, and she was told without 10 meds she will slowly die from the bone disease.
she has no job, and no insurance.
she has applied for medicaid in MI and is still waiting to hear from them. she was denied the first time but that was when she first found out about the fibro.

anyway, she is one of the many people out there who needs that expansion of Medicare. badly.

she is a pretty nice lady, but some days she is in bed all day because of the pain. and cannot move.

right now she is trying to beg the pharma companies, thru a social worker, to maybe provide her with some meds.

well, thats what this all boils down to.
