What's left?
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 06:46 PM by mmonk
The public option is out. Caps on coverage is in. The Kucinich amendment is out. Mandated private insurance is in. Drug reimportation is out. Reduced benefits are in. Privately managed for private coverage is in. Medicare buy in is out. Medicaid buy in is out. I'm getting real fuzzy on how this is reform. You couldn't do a lot less with a lot less pages and time.

Anyone care to add?

2. Its reform because it has the word "reform" on the bill?
In the 80's Cadillac rebadged a 4 door Chevy and thought they could fool people into buying it at the Cadillac price.

The same idiot PR people must have went to work for our party.

3. Ben Nelson is trying to strip the Medicaid expansion out.
Which, if he succeeds, means that a good chunk of the "30 million Americans who will get coverage" - the poorest among them, in fact, will not have coverage.

11. But think of all those uninsured who will still get coverage ...
or else be fined by the IRS.

See, they can always claim that millions of uninsured will get coverage ,,, or else.

4. Well, they perserved the monopoly status of the insurance industry!!!

5. You forgot the federal overide of state consumer saftey laws in health care.
I think that is the most evil aspect of the entire toxic bill. Allowing insurance corps the shop for home states that have the lowest standards, locate there, and then market into the rest of the country derailing state standards.

This is a dangerous bill.

16. The Democrats are a war party too. The PPI is a Democratic version
of the neoconservative movement and the CFR. Remember, the DLC and the PPI run the policy now of the Democratic Party. That is why the party runs counter to its constituency.
