There will be no health care bill this year ..... end of story.

I just talked to my friend who is my congress critter ... the House is in recess until next year ....
anything you hear about having to get a bill done before Christmas is pure hype .... and that includes
the White House and Harry Reid too.

3. Why does there have to be a timeline?
 When the bill is done, it's done. I hope it's sooner rather than later. But if it's a good bill, I don't mind waiting a few months. I think it wasn't a good call to set a specific date. It just looks bad when you don't meet that deadline. And from what I know, wasn't there an original start-up date of the bill of 2013?

5. They don't want to be debating it during an election year.

6. But if the bill is not finished
why push it? Why pass a weak bill when you can keep working on it and get it right?

8. As bad as it is (IMO), they want it out of the news cycle in 2010.

7. The House already produced their bill
The Senate is the body of Congress working to get a bill done before the end of the year.

Then the two bills will go to conference in January.
