How the left has benefitted the healthcare debate... |
|
Simply because of their passion against many of the provisions and proposals in the "reform" bill, the left has put tremendous pressure on the Democratic Senators and the leadership of the Party. This pressure has stiffened the spine of the Democrats at this critical time in the debate. They are willing to stay there over the Christmas vacation if necessary. It is not sure that the Republicans will have the same resolve. It is this resolve that will prevail for the Democrats. This is where they can thank the left, in my opinion.

1. I think the benefits of reform are pretty clear |

and that the left has had an easy time supporting and defending universal health care.
I think this debate clearly has shown the GOP strategy (obstruct). The USA needs answers. Obama and his supporters provide answers. The GOP shoots those answers down. The GOP offers the market for solutions..
In this instance the left is clearly fighting for what is the most logical and beneficial course of action. Good for us..
