So, people, if you still have any delusions about the abortion language going away in conference, it won't.

http://www.americablog.com/2009/12/there-is-senate-health-care-bill-and.html

UPDATE @ 10:00: It's official. At his presser, Nelson said he will vote for cloture and for the reform bill. On abortion, "I have fought hard to prevent tax dollars from being used to subsidize abortions...I believe we have accomplished that goal." Nelson also said there will be a "limited conference" between the House and Senate. If there are ""material changes" to the Senate bill in conference, he will vote against cloture. So, Ben Nelson now runs the House, too.

I am calling Sanders and BEGGING him to filibuster this piece of crap shit bill.

I am so furious right now. I am so OUTRAGED & PISSED OFF, I can't see straight.

Womens' Rights are ALWAYS used a bargaining chip in their sick negotiating schemes and scams. The democrats can't pass this legislation and continually bargain away a women's right to abortion and claim they are pro-choice.

They haven't just picked a fight with the left, they have started a war.

1. They should have called it an abortion ban from the beginning.
It would have saved a lot of time and it would have sailed right through the Senate. :grr:

2. Our options are quickly dwindling - call Sanders and tell him to filibuster

And, failing that (I don't think he will do it), call the House Progressives and tell them to stand together in a block to stop this train wreck.

This is SHAMEFUL.

This sell out is shameful. This betrayal of liberals is shameful. This betrayal of the democratic party platform is shameful.

4. I don't believe there is a cloture vote after Conference conciliation
I believe then it is just an up or down vote and all that is needed is fifty one Senators to say yea.

5. That is true as I understand it, but then it has to go for a full vote which is subject to
filibuster I think.

6. Do we really need his vote after reconcilliation?
Isn't it only 51% that we need now?

7. This was as predictable as the sunrise
Once they gave Lieberman the keys to the Oval Office, Nelson knew that he was in the driver's seat.

The administration has fucked this up beyond measure. What a bunch of amateurs.
