1. I'm sorry to hear that.
He needs to be replaced. It may be a two-step process, with a Republican replacement as the first step. I can't see any Democratic candidate that can win in 2010, so the best that will probably happen is for the Republican to win. At least, then, we won't have Lieberman and work can begin to elect a liberal Democrat six years later.

You are in a tough state right now. But Lieberman is a liability to the Democratic caucus, and is of no use to us any longer.

3. Would Lamont be willing to run again? He's been on several
cable shows recently so he's still trying to remain visible.

18. Al Franken is my senator.
Amy Klobuchar is the other one.

One's great. The other's pretty good.

21. Amy gets a little moderate at times, but boy is she a likeable
person. I think she can be Senator as long as she likes. I don't know anyone who doesn't like her personally. I met her at an Al Franken event and we talked for about five minutes. She never stops looking you in the eye and she listens to what you have to say. You know that because she addresses your concerns frankly and directly.

Al's much the same in person. He listens carefully and thoughtfully. That's rare in politicians. Both are fine Senators.

7. As much as I hate him, I have to admit he has a certain toughness.
He certainly humiliated Reid and the White House and took a lot of flak, all of it well-deserved--and he could easily have avoided all of it.

26. Mine too. I don't know anyone who likes him here...
He's actually IN THE STATE as we speak. He got leave to come for the end of Hannukah and the Sabbath. So at least he's not doing any preening before the cameras...

If I were him, I sure wouldn't try strutting around the state making noises. There are a lot of angry people in CT right about now...not that he cares.
