(or, if truth-in-labeling were practiced: the Baucus-Reid-Lieberman-Emanuel mandate for Americans to purchase overpriced, unaffordable, inadequate product from a predatory cabal that will gladly extort 27% of a family's income so that incompetent CEO's can collect multi-million dollar bonuses.)

Who could have dreamed up a superior strategy to deliver millions of betrayed hard-working Americans to the next Right Wing, pseudo-populist demagogue - - - - or to quickly & permanently convince Americans that all the smears and lies the Republicans have made about "Lib-rul, Big-Government Democrat Party" not caring about hard-working Americans is perhaps true?

When Americans get the bills for their now-mandated, sky-rocketing premiums, and realize it was the Democratic "leadership" that eliminated any public option, and the right to buy-in to Medicare, how long will the Democratic majority last?

:kick:

2. Haven't you heard? It's not them it's YOU
THey are just doing the best they can, it's all your fault for not backing them up on every stupid, moronic idiotic thing they do. When Sarah Palin becomes President it will be all your fault because you stuck to your values.

4. Very true, and I suspect you may have just described the sweep of the next 20 years or so.
People may well look back at the Obama Adminstration as an ineffectual blip that might've prevented a right-wing populist movement, but was just too self-serving and corrupt to see it.

6. They would never get that far...
>When Americans get the bills for their non-mandated, sky-rocketing premiums, and realize it was the Democratic "leadership" that eliminated any public option, and the right to buy-in to Medicare,

Ignorant America will NEVER remember the public option.

They will conclude THE TRUTH - THAT THE PLAN GOING THROUGH IS WHAT DEMOCRATS WANTED ALL ALONG.

They will then turn on Rush Limbaugh who is on every radio market and AGREE WITH HIM and there goes ANOTHER FUCKING *GENERATION*.

taking people's money against their will, saying it's for their own good --- and doing it without even the cover that FDR wisely insisted upon with social security, by having it withdrawn from paychecks. People don't miss the money as much when they never see it."

We've handed them the all-time favorite loaded weapon. And the bullets. Again, we have to ask, why?

8. Very true. This is beyond asinine.
Every month, voters are going to look at their money disappearing and get pissed all over again. The Republicans choice to completely sit this out turns out to have been a wise one. They can distance themselves from it. Democrats own it, 100%.

I think they've just put themselves out of power for another 15 years, at *least*.
