now that it's been proven that the citizens don't matter any more. I mean, how do we weed through the chaff to actually elect progressive, liberal representatives into the many branchs of our government?
I've noticed that an awful lot of folks start out running for public service with the best intentions, but when everyone starts calling them sir and ma'am, cowtowing to their every need or want, giving them money they never thought about before, they forget the "public service" part.
What do the greater minds on DU think?

The Federal Government is a lost cause, it seems, and all we can do there is block the oligarchs from further enslaving us.
But at the state level, we may have more success.
