From an e-mail I just received from Senator Reid:



The newest version will:

Reign in costs even further




Maybe they just have the concept of "reigning over us" on their minds.

Rein and reign are both legitimate English words.

Although as you point out, the slip is awfully Freudian.

3. No, I understand that spellcheck wouldn't have caught it,
just that sometimes spellcheck isn't really your friend. I do see this as very Freudian.

correct usage - using some convoluted 'controlling the excesses of the king' reasoning that is mind-boggling in its idiocy. I have never and will never claim any level of perfection with language, but this particular misuse of heterogryphs is galling.

I expect a defender will show up in this thread before too much time passes.

At least with Reid et al it is possible to argue the Freudian implications . . .
