Poll question: Did the White House have anything to do with the Vicki Kennedy Op-Ed?
In my opinion if you think this op-ed just came out without coordination with the White House on a critical time in the Senate process, you don't really know how the political games are played.

6. Oh, good grief. I was answering your question.
Eg, could it be an accident that Ted's widow came out with a statement just at this point.

Especially since her late husband endorsed Medicare For All

11. oh fucking please. your patronizing attitute toward Vicky Kennedy
sucks. Even if she's grieving, she's no half-wit. She wrote this because she wanted to, and Kennedy may have wanted Medicare for all, but like Bernie, he'd probably vote for it. I may disagree with that, but I'm not gonna be an intellectual whore about it.

Defend the crappy bill and attack Howard Dean et al, or lord knows what.

They coddled Joe and Ben and patted them on the back.

16. of course
and hopefully, if needed she'd come to the floor of the Senate and ask them to look her in the eye before they voted no, too.

21. But the white house doesn't fight hard enough, right?
Vicky Kennedy's not an idiot or a political novice. The white house wants to pass this bill, lousy though it may be, and she obviously does too. Why wouldn't they ask her to write something and why wouldn't she do so? Do you think she is lying about what she thinks her late husband would want?

26. Oh really ...

So would you agree that all those on DU who sought to invoke the name of Kennedy after the death of Teddy in support of the passage of health care reform are "super fucking tacky and low?"

Of course Ms. Kennedy wrote this due to the timing. She has her own mind, and this outlook that she was simply used is bordering on misogynistic.

24. Teddy made that his main issue
So it's natural his widow would speak up while the subject is under consideration.
