How Ironic!
There could have meed a REALLY GOOD HCR bill, but it wouldn't have passed the Senate.
So they started taking out the good stuff and packing it with bad stuff until...
it was finally shitty enough to get 60 votes.

So now We the People can only hope it is also shitty enough that it needs a massive overhaul within our lifetimes.

How ironic!

2. Yup. So, what we need to do is to nominate and elect
good progressive people to the Senate, so this doesn't happen again. That is the only answer. In the meantime, this bill helps some. Some is better than none.

3. Somewhere in the picture has to be campaign finance reform
And we have to break up these big corporations. They are too big and have too much power.

9. Very true.
This Democratic Republic is lost unless we can bring in publicly financed campaigns and end all corporate lobbying.

4. Progressives don't get corporate money or corporate media time..
The deck is very much stacked against any true progressive that doesn't sell out to the corporatists.

7. Already famous in his own right..
And Minnesota is hardly representative of most of the rest of the US politically, just remember it also gave us Jesse Ventura and Paul Wellstone.

11. The point is how Al Franken got elected, instead of
Norm Coleman. That's what I'm talking about in this OP:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/MineralMan/26

Minnesota's not any different in that regard.
