Christians have a saying, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"
Doe that just mean your own body, or does it extend to your home, your office, your environment, etc? I would think a clean Earth would be one God would love. That means the air as well as the ground..or am I way off track here? Why do so many so-called Christians insist that cleaning up the Earth is not a worthy goal?

1. It isn't in the Bible.
Therefore, it doesn't count.

2. It is not in the Bible and it would be interesting to know just who started
the idea that it was.

3. It seems to be quite ancient.
Maybe from some Hebrew proverb, but not biblical. Francis Bacon used it, then John Wesley, but seems to have been accepted use even in their day.

6. The Bible is a book of stories and ideas.
There are many passages that can be interpreted to include care of the earth.

Interpretation is always the problem when it comes to any kind of "holy" scripture.

7. 7 deadly sins aren't in the bible either
they come from the catholic church. http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect1chpt1art8.shtml#1865

Nor does the bible call for priest & nuns to be celibate, again the catholic church made this "suggestion", I've heard in greed, so that there are no legal heirs to whatever money, property they may accumulate, upon their death all property reverts to the church....how tidy.

4. Are you sure that's a specifically Christian saying?
