The campaign for 2010 will begin in ernest just about two weeks from now and opponents to Democrats have all the ammunition in Health Care Reform (HRF) they need to take seats - and that presumes we don't poop in the berry bowl even more between now and next November than we have since last November, an astonishingly hard presumption to make. Do you know what they will take up next? Debt reduction. You think you've seen Republican lies so far? Put them in campaign mode and let Democrats be screwing with the tax code or entitlements and we'll be lucky to have 3 seats left in the Congress, both Chambers combined*.

* Cool off, I purposefully exaggerated for effect

1. IF it passes, opponenents will have all they need to hang themselves...

Republicans opposed the bill on behalf of the insurance companies, and through ideological belief in Capitalism as the source of all good things, and will vote against it for those reasons.

2. 'debt reduction' means 'social security/medicare reduction'
because there's NO WAY they'll reduce military spending.

3. Electoral payback for a bad hcr bill will sink incumbent dems.
Democrats are now tied to health care premiums and costs for eternity.

4. I think there's a high likelyhood that Republicans will suffer far more
The Democratic campaigns will repeat that they've done nothing but be obstructionists at every single turn and if a few of the Blue Dog Democrats have to run and Democratic Progressives run against them I think we'll lose some of the Blue Dogs, if not all of the ones who run.

If 65% or 75% of the American people want health care reform they'll vote for the people who voted for it, whether it's imperfect or not.

I always vote because I don't believe in throwing away my vote and I always vote for a Democrat. Always.

5. Let them win it all. Since civilization is in terminal collapse anyway, ...
I'd just a soon it happened on the Republican's watch so they can take all the blame in future history books.

6. What I don't understand is why the Democrats
are letting these minority republicans get away with the crap they are spewing. They are letting republicans take over the media, in all forms. they are letting the lying message the republicans are yelling get out.

I know that the media is corporate republican owned, but damn it the Democrats should be out there defending our president and the rest of their fellow congress people.

Are they so weak and lily liveried that they are letting Palin pretend she is an expert on everything and is getting away with it. Look at Bachman. With all she has done not one democrat has called for the ethic committee to investigate her. The republicans are steam rolling over the democrats like the democrats were in a very small minority. And until we get more Democrats like Grayson, Weiner and Franken and an Independent like
Sanders who are taking the fight to the terroristic enemy the republicans we will continue to be slaughtered. It just looks like the Democrats are sitting still and taking it. But one thing they should do, is make it plain that Nelson, Baucus and the Dirty Dogs should go. They should be more vocal about the fact that Rahm's Dirty Dogs are what is screwing up congress. Yes Rahm...he got them in. And he kicked Dean out. Why???because he knew Dean was doing a good job and Rahm wanted more republican like democrats so his corporate buddies could reap in the windfall.
