40. Only confidence in the current leaders
I wonder how many DUers realize, or even care, that if someone else is running against Obama in the primaries in 2012, we might as well kiss winning in 2012, as well as keeping majority in Congress, good bye. For another generation, or until the Republicans fuck up, again.

Yes, I know. Many here would rather have a Supreme Court full of "Thomases and Scalias" - I don't.

That people here are disappointed with Obama - this is their problem. He was not my first choice, not even my second or third, but I voted for him and I knew - more or less - what I was getting.

The problem of all the wide eye "idealists" is that instead of actually listening to Obama they projected their hopes and aspirations on him. No one can be everything for everyone.

And, politics is the art of compromise. If people refuse or cannot accept them, they are going to be disappointed for the rest of their life, in the area of politics, at least.

"The problem of all the wide eye "idealists" is that instead of actually listening to Obama they projected their hopes and aspirations on him. No one can be everything for everyone."

I guess us wide eyed idealists are questioning why we haven't seen him do one thing in our favor yet. Trillions for war, trillions to make the rich richer, total sellout on healthcare, total coward on gay rights, total coward on EFCA, totally insulting us with endless Rahm-scams, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Barney was the only good thing about the Shrub reign.

And HE had enough sense to hate Bush, too!

He dropped Barney because Barney nipped him. And Barney nipped him because Barney HATES him.

25. We are not allowed to appreciate a picture of a cute dog now?
Just because the dog's family is well-off? My cats get better health care than some people, too. Must I therefore stop taking them to the vet, or should I just refrain from posting cute pictures of them on the internet, lest someone be offended because they look too healthy?

I get kind of tired of these straw-man arguments.

I like cute animals, whether or not they belong to POTUS. I enjoy pictures of them. Therefore I must be a member of the oppressive ruling class. Those good progressive members of the oppressed proletariat who do not give two craps about cute animal pictures probably should avoid looking at them.

52. Once or twice is one thing, but how many damn threads are there going to be about the dog?
What's next, Bo's girlfriend and their engagement, their wedding and their first baby? :eyes:

Sure the dog is cute, but his cuteness is wearing very thin in the face of endless war, no health care, government mandated highway robbery by the insurance industry, a crappy economy with 6 people for every available job, global warming being flushed down the toilet, and on and on and on.
