set the policy.

It is intellectually dishonest to pretend that the soldiers chose the mission.

A 60 year old man (who was fragged, by the way) re-enlisted and led the charge of the elders. You aren't too old and your feet aren't too flat. They're taking ANYONE. Get your ass in there, because my family is sick of being back-door drafted for you and your politician's idiot notions and back-door deals.

like a lot of the rah-rah pro-military psychopaths seem to think.(but then- how could we ever support such a large and prosperous military-industrial-complex without the seemingly endless line of enablers that happily sign up to be the next generation of cannon fodder?)

"if you can bring peace between all factions in Iraq and Afghanistan I suggest you do it."

a very good start would be to pull ALL of our troops out of both countries, as it would take away the main target for the 'insurgents', as well as their SINGLE BIGGEST recruitment tool.
if some of them still want to kill each other when we're gone- then it's their problem, not ours.

24. but...but...it would destroy America to prosecute war crimes
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 05:16 PM by Solly Mack
We have ever so much more important things to do than to live in the past. (never mind all crimes take place in the past...even conspiracy to commit)

Besides, it's not like we'd ever do it again. Everyone that would do such things now knows it's wrong and illegal to do those things...because they didn't know before...because no one ever told them it was illegal and besides, a lawyer said they could do it. You can't trust those long standing laws doncha know...need a lawyer to say why those laws don't apply to you....and when laws don't apply to you then can you really break the law? And if you can't break the law then everything you do is AOK.

Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 05:25 PM by Solly Mack
When America tortures it does so to please God! (HE wants us to win against those terrorists, doncha know)

When America discriminates against gays it does so to please God! (Gay people are deviants and a danger to others, unlike war criminals who have the best of intentions and only act in good faith...and faith is a good thing!)

Does my anger at the lack of justice show? Because I've been working on finding a happy place.

Until leaders recognize in their minds and hearts that all those they send to die and those they kill are individuals human beings with their own unique lives, loves, and hopes, mass murder in the name of ideology and profit will continue...or until we take the responsibility into our own hands to stop it.

take lives the same way we do mass murderers and serial killers.

They belong in regular prison, and if the death penalty is on the books, no one deserves it more than them.
