Republicans Suck !
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 05:47 PM by kentuck
They can rationalize anything and they will believe anything their leaders tell them. Granted, there are many, many Democrats that suffer from the same Stockholm Syndrome. However, Republicans will believe anything, no matter how silly or absurd.

John McCain was on TV this morning talking about how "partisan" Barack Obama has been. He and his Party have opposed everything the President has opposed, simply for partisan reasons. Barack Obama, much like Bill Clinton, has been a compromising moderate in too many ways. But that doesn't matter to the Republicans. He is a Democrat. He is a big spender. He is a socialist. And he is to be opposed at every turn. The Republicans oppose everything unanimously and it is the other side that is "partisan"??

The Republican Party knows how to play their role as the opposition. If they could govern as well, our country would not be in such a mess today. They have governed from the extreme. They looked for no compromise. They were going to spend everything and not pay for anything. They were going to pass every taxcut conceivable, regardless of its impact on our debt or deficits. They simply did not give a damn.

But now, that they have been thrown out of power, they are fiscal conservatives. They are deeply concerned about how much we are spending and how much debt we are accumulating. There is simply no way a person with an IQ of 50 or above could not see the hypocrisy of these folks. But they pretend not to see. And they think no one else notices.

What type of political Party should there be to compete with such a radical bunch? The times call for a progressive agenda to roll back some of the damage these folks have done. This is not a time for compromise or bi-partisanship. The opposition sees that as nothing but weakness. And that is what it is, in reality. We need an opposing Party to the radical extremists that call themselves "Republicans".

These folks do not care about our country. They do not care about healthcare, otherwise they would have done something in the 12 years they were in power, in either the Congress or the White House. They did nothing. They are warmongers and defenders of the wealthy. Common people can go to hell. But somehow, they have convinced enough common people that they have their interests at heart. Their deeds never match their words. Never. And many folks are seeing similar traits in the present Democratic Party. It is sad and there are no easy solutions.
