Poll question: Rate the current HCR bill based on what you know of it
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 08:12 PM by coti
We've all done a bit of studying now.

Rate the bill on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being An Absolutely Terrible Bill that will Inevitably Destroy Our Healthcare System and Economy, and 10 being the Greatest Legislation that will Ever be Passed by our Federal Government.

1. I'll take it
based on the fact that it's something better than what we had before and hoping that it improves over time.

2. Have you heard the arguments that it, in fact, makes us worse off and not better? nt

10. No, not those.
The arguments I'm talking about were less "extensive" and more cogent.

11. So arguments that are factual & well researched, but that you disagree with are not "cogent"
Edited on Mon Dec-21-09 09:58 AM by HughMoran
huh - you've exposed your real agenda.

13. "Exposed my real agenda"- who are you, Bob Woodward?
You know, rhetoric is more than just typing out powerful-sounding words.

THAT'S what I mean by cogent. ;)

16. So facts have no sway on you - that's what I was saying
Being obtuse and diversionary doesn't make you seem very clever.

18. No, I'm merely saying that the facts you've offered are not very compelling
in light of all of the other facts available to us, while pointing out your weak rhetorical attempts at characterization.

Anything else?

9. definitely a number 1....
....in 2005, if we would have known this was going to be the 'healthcare reform' we would receive for winning two tough elections, I doubt this crap piece of corporate well-fare legislation would have motivated many of us to work our asses off supporting Dems.

12. Is there any info available on what happens to Congressional...
healthcare...will they(elite)be participating with the rest of us?

Further, will Federal employees lose their 'special' programs that they participate in while not contributing to SS and Medicare?

22. I voted 2.
1 is within the realm of reason, but not quite fair, I don't think. 10 is absurd.

17. Which bill? House or Senate?
We still have to conference them together before it's a real bill.

19. There is no health care bill yet
Until it gets out of conference, some of the most important issues have yet to be fixed. Of course, the PO won't be coming back and that's all many care about, so I suppose most are likely voting on that.

26. would love to have seen a poll on how much people actualy know about the bill.
Cause the response you are getting pretty much says most dont know squat.

Not what you have been told by some blogger mind you but what you actually know.

28. Polls like these I would eliminate all the '10' and '1'. Then you'll find your true rating
Because honestly, I think some eyes are so closed that they do not realize there is still alot of good in HCR that will make a difference out there for about 30million people. And anyone who rates at 10 is probably just a cheerleader who feels they need to fight back against the "1'.

Me? I gave it a 6 - I think there is good but I'm still a 'wait & see' type of gal.
