What do you believe the Democrats can accomplish without any Republican support?
Republicans have made no bones about the fact they will attempt to block any and all Legislation put forth by the Democrats..Reality is at the moment we have back stabbing Democrats that vote as Republicans in the Senate and in most cases they are going to side with the Republicans. I think it is actually quite historic that any Health care/Insurance Reforms could happen at all. What we need to concentrate on from this point on is putting up challenges to all those "Democrats" that don't seem to have a Democratic bone in their body. If we can somehow replace just one of them with even a moderate Democrat we will see many good things happen. Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman are not voting for this bill because they are good guys or they like this bill, they are voting on it because of the extreme pressure being applied by the Obama Administration. There are sticks being applied we know nothing about..However instead of spending so much time wallowing in Negativity or bad mouthing Obama we need to be concentrating on fixing the situation. Lets try our damnedest to get rid of Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman and blanche Lincoln and all the rest that put Corporate Interests ahead of the American People's interests. I am delighted a Bill is about to be passed and signed into Law. If we can get just one more real Democrat elected we can fix this bill and get others we want and need. We are in it for the long haul (as long as we live) and need to think long termed..Obama is doing a lot of work behind the scenes and we need a little patience. Things are going to get better....

republicans have never had this many Senators, and they managed to pass the entire Reagan-bush-bush rape of our country.

5. They only did so with the aid of those back stabbing Democrats I mentioned
Notice there are NO Republicans willing to cross Party lines but during the Bush* Administration Democrats crossing Party lines was a normal occurrance and funny thing it was always the same Democrats that sided with the Republicans. Imagine if those Democrats were no longer in the Senate?

7. this situation gives lie to the assertion that they'll "fix it later."
they don't have the votes now; they'll have fewer votes after next year.

8. No they won't
My whole point is getting rid of those Democrats that do more harm than good. I believe mainstream America is going to be quite happy about these Health care Reforms and the Democrats efforts in Congress and I do not fall for the BS that we will lose seats. There have been absolutely no Campaign ads put together yet. Republicans are not going to have much to campaign on if you ask me..Democrats have quite a bit actually and unless you are really radicalized I think one would agree.

10. this is one of the least popular Congresses in American history right now.
55% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. That's a number that measures "independent" sentiment, and the 55% rivals the worst of the bush years.

None of this bodes well for the incumbent party in power in the upcoming midterms, no matter how "radicalized" you are.

3. a systematic and thorough public relations/media campaign labeling and defining repubs as
an obstructionist party with no ideas that is also hateful and racist and against the needs of the people and the nation?

6. Not much if they go on as they have this past year.
Quite a bit were they to actually act like a governing party with a large majority.

9. Just posted on that
I think, to make matters clear, the Democrats should tell the republicans they are sick of trying to get their support and from now on, what the Democrats want for the real America they are going to push for and vote for, and as of today it is a whole new ball game.
