Howard Dean now for passage of Senate Health Care bill?
Well, just tried to capture some of his points as he talked live on msnbc just now.

Seems he does not agree with killing the bill anymore.

His points down below.

Hope someone has better copy or a transcript, i had to do it as he talked.

vc2's diary :: ::
he just said that it should pass, he now wants it to pass

-said the changes he wanted from his MTP interview have been made..named at least 3 of them
-said that rockefeller amendment is huge
-states still have the right to make the bill better too
-says that disappointed in no PO but best that can be expected
-cost panels with teeth in them now (3 of them)to regulate costs by insurance co
-hospitals can be self exmpted (sounded positive but missed part)
-great thing in bill with how they treat small business
-he agrees with feingold about wh and PO

1. Obama said any bill he signed had to have a public option.
So I guess he won't sign it.
Cause I know he will keep his word.
Because we have all this change stuff happening.

9. I don't think he said that. Please show me a link to a direct quote.
I believe he always said he favored a PO, not that it was a requisite. Show me if I'm wrong. If so, I apologize.

12. Apology accepted.
"Any plan I sign must include an insurance exchange: a one-stop shopping marketplace where you can compare the benefits, cost and track records of a variety of plans - including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest - and choose what's best for your family."

July 2009.
Here is even VIDEO of it:

2. I think Dean said to kill it earlier to bring serious scrutiny to it.
He knew as well as we did that it was inevitable. The liberals in the Senate cannot stand up and say what Dean said. But, Dean got the attention that few outside of the Senate could get. It was more of a shot across that bow than a call to action, IMO. I think he spoke truth then and does now.

It is going to pass. Let's look at the work to do tomorrow. There is no gain in fighting yesterday's battles today.

4. The Corprotocracy has pushed their steely fingers up through his bum to his mouth...
and forced his lips and tongue to mouth those vile and despicable words.
:sarcasm:
Clearly, Dr. Dean is now a proud incrementalist. His aid in imporving health care for all Americans is appreciated.

6. Dean: Kill the Bill
I always read his comment to "kill the bill" as euthanizing the Senate Bill (prior to the recent modifications) and try to push the House bill -- which I assume he thinks is a slightly better bill, through reconciliation. Not once did I ever interpret his comment to mean kill the entire HCR process and let's all go home and prepare for the holidays.

Then again, I could be mistaken (won't be the first time), and I'm sure other posters will kindly correct me if I am. B-)

7. Passing this bill is about keeping Obama from looking like a failure
so my guess is that he got some talking down done to him.

10. tend to agree
think that's what most Dems were told this week, leading to the odd calm that suddenly erupted

that they would all go down with a sinking ship

(which may happen anyway)
