Bernie's view on Joey Scabs |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 08:53 AM by AllentownJake
This bill is not sustainable in the long term. That you can't have a bill where the insurance companies are laughing their way to the bank and you keep 45,000,000 people insured. That sometime in the near future the Insurance/Pharma lobby will have to make less money or the subsidies will have to be cut. He's voting for this bill for the here and now, but acknowledges this bill cannot be a solution for the long term.
Oh and he basically called most of the bill shit for 5 minutes.
Bernie's hope is that the congress will stand up to the Insurance company sometime in the near term when this happens.
Bernie Sanders is at least honest, not like the other people trying to sell this.
In my analysis
Past success can predict future results. The President hates standing up to moneyed interest as evidence to his year with banking an finance, and half the democratic senators in congress are bought, the democrats are possibly going to lose seats so there will be more GOP members in the future.
Who here shares Bernie's optimism? Who shares my doom and gloom?

3. I don't share your doom and gloom and I do share Bernies optimism |

I don't think the dems will loose seats. I think most everyone knows who and what is responsible for this piece of legislation and will vote accordingly. We'll have enough seats in the senate after this next election to not need any of the liebermans and that other dick head with all the fake hair, nelson and add baucus in there too. I know he is not up for re-election but he can be neutered by another's vote.

6. I'm kind of in the Bernie camp although I have no rational basis for saying that |

Perhaps it's wishful thinking, I'm almost 70 years old, and I'd like to see this happen before I'm gone.
Or maybe it's just this- "I reject your reality and substitute my own"
Lots of that going around these days.
