Our local news here in Okla.
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 10:13 AM by rwork
Reported this morning that our Republican legislature will opt-out of the national health care plan, allow a vote of the people
and just use our existing health care plan. I don't think we have a health care plan.

Is this possible? Can all states do this?

1. Um only if it's in the bill that they can do that
which that has been dropped.

Nice to see Oklahoma give a big 'fuck you' to the people living in their state.

 you need it - it must be trying.

Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 10:06 AM by CBGLuthier
It sucks. But at least it is cheap and there in case a limb falls off.

They won't opt out. Not without one hell of a fight.

3. No. That's not in the bill any more.
Was this an editorial? There is lots of misinformation on the editorial pages.

12. I looked a little more.
It seems 3 lawmakers here in Okla., want to use the "Freedom of Health Care Choice" to allow a vote of the people.

4. only if it meets the requirements to opt out
and the most talked about opt out provisions were hypothetical and to be applied to the public option in the Senate Bill, a public option that is no longer there to opt out of.

5. Most ot the US doesn't really have a "plan", which is much of the problem -
The idea that we have a health care "system" is nonsense.

6. We have two choices: Take a shit sandwich from D.C. Or...take a locally made shit sandwich.
OK, at least with the D.C. sandwich I get sun dried tomatoes on the shit.

11. Eh, I preferred fresh cut tomatoes and bacon, so I had to split the difference on my part.
I dropped the bacon demand for the promise of at least some type of tomato.

9. "Opt Out" does not exist in either bill that will go to conference
so it's a moot point.

There is no "opt out".
