I am going to have to wait and see how this turns out. Something tells me it is premature to attack the legislation at this time. I will admit that it looks like a payoff to the insurance and drug lobbyists. However, I am of the opinion that the House should call and raise on the Senate's bet. We really don't know what they will accept or not accept. We only know what a few have said they will not accept. I think the House should roll the dice.

2. Why? Is there a track record of these things being improved? |
|
If they're busy sucking up to that DLC corporatist piece of shit Nelson and the rest of his ilk how much improvement do you foresee?

5. that's the way i see it as well |

if we can't get it right with an overwhelming public mandate and overwhelming public support, a majority in both the house and senate and the wh, what chance will there ever be to make it better. the people the senate bill helps will be offset by the people whose current insurance plans and finacial circumstances take a hit. this will just give momentum to the status quo crowd, and the new status quo will be worse than now. we voted for health care reform not a huge costly bastardized boondoggle for the insurance industry. sorry bimho it's just a license to steal, the same way the defense contractors have a lincense to steal, and cc companies have a lincense to steal. it looks alright in theory and on paper but everytime free markets and public service try to coexist the service gets screwed. think charter schools.

3. If we don't make noise what kind of final bill do you think we'll get? |
|
So, no, I don't think it's premature to attack what we know is bad in the legislation coming out of the Senate. Then liberals in the House know they have support to take a stand.

6. I think they know there are a lot of Democrats not happy with it... |
|
This is no secret to any of them. I don't believe we would have gotten this far if the left had been silent? At some point, there is a diminishing return on attacks and criticism, in my opinion.

That attitude leads to abuses written in legislation that then becomes too late to correct.

7. Kentuck, at least wait and see on the sidewalk, not in the intersection... |
|
the FedEx truck that is now racing to deliver this bill to Obama's itchy hands for signing will run over you.
Wait and see, just on the side walk.
Seriously, it would be nice to see the House 'roll the dice'.
In the meantime, happy holidays and happy new year to you.
