The Happiest Man On The Planet In Regard To HCR Being Passed - RUSH LIMBAUGH
Can their be any doubt that Rush and the GOP are doing the happy dance behind closed doors in regard to the HCR legislation being passed. They love this bill because their corporatist allies love it AND they will be highly effective using aspects of the bill in a devastating propaganda campaign leading up to the 2010 elections. The Ben Nelson payoff is manna from heaven and the mandate provision gives them, for the first time in history, a legitimate claim that Democrats in power in Washington are confiscating your money because they know how to spend it better than you in regard to your health. No, the GOP and the gargantuan right-wing hate machine led by Rush Limbaugh are orgasmic over this turn of events. They get to have it all! They get a bill they would have passed for their corporate overlords and they get to blame it on Democrats. The perfect storm! Watch and see how much mileage they get out of the Ben Nelson bribe.

2010 is going to be a disaster for Democrats. It is almost as though Democrats find it easier to be the minority party. Maybe it is just much easier to look people in the eye as a legislator and say you would like to help but can't than actually have the means and don't. It certainly makes it much easier to sound sincere and believable at fundraisers and rallies.

2. On the Nelson thing, I heard Howard Dean say that he believed that in the conference
bill, all the states would get the 100% Medicaid award.

4. We should all make up our minds to be happy: Republicans no longer rule the world.
Yeah, the Democrats need to do a lot better but at least the congress isn't working to take people's rights away from them: gay rights in particular. Or the unPatriot act.

Also, the belated credit card reform will offer some protections. Note that all of this maneuvering by the credit card companies must be eating into their bottom lines. That's a good thing.

America's been messed up since November 22, 1963.

6. To celebrate their failure..
Republicans have accomplished absolutely nothing. They were unable to stop the Democrats in any way what-so-ever. Yep they can celebrate alright but most Republicans do not like failure..I believe there is going to be some effort to oust sitting Republicans that proved themselves to be losers...They have nothing positive to run on at all. Democrats on the other hand have a long list of positive things they have accomplished in the last year.. The proof will be in the pudding for sure.

10. The repugs have made some gaffs...

one I can think of off the top of my head is my jackass Sen. Kyl saying that he doesn't need maternity care. McCain is super liar but pretty much entrenched here.
