Obama calls local talk show: 'Barry from DC'
Source: USA Today

Outgoing Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine hosted his last call-in radio show this morning and greeted a guest who employed a surprise moniker:

"Barry from DC."

Turned out to be none other than Pennsylvania Avenue resident Barack Obama.

"Barry" dialed in to "Ask The Governor" to pay tribute to the man he almost picked for vice president and did tap for Democratic Party chair -- after first joking that he wanted to complain about traffic in northern Virginia.

looking for WMD's sarcastically, or dancing with the African tribesman, or poking at the press corps. Yeah, that president sure is funny! Doesn't do much for all the words that come out of his mouth, but damn, he's funny!

And, knowing how Kaine is rather conservative, (and Obama is anti-Gay rights to marriage and pro-Afghan-war expansion and other American imperialism, for the Patriot Act, made no effort to keep real cost controls in the health care bill) I couldn't help but think, "oh aren't you two just PRECIOUS playing radio!"

The comedy part is easy.

The doing-what's-right for the COUNTRY (as opposed to the corporatocracy) is the hard part.

He absolutely was in favor of a strong PO in the HCR bill. When he realized that the Republicants would not vote if it was in the bill he weighed his options carefully. This bill, though flawed, will bring real change to the American people.

also revealed what Lieberman subsequently admitted, Obama did NOT campaign for the PO. Rahm's brother Zeke, special health care adviser to the WH actively campaigned against it and the Prez never took a stand where he even threatened to veto a Bill that did not contain it. He has also proved he would sign any kind of crappy bill just to claim a win. The content doesn't seem to matter. That is why he would even sign a Bill with Stupak Pitts and the Nelson Bill.

56. Since all Senators that caucus with the ...
Republicans voted against cloture, the
Dems should strip out all amendments to the HCR bill that
were added to try and get Republican votes. Then put back
the Public Option, and maybe the bill would be worth some
real reform.

Why give Repugs any concessions if they're going to vote
against the bill anyway?

in those cases, you either have to take whatever lumps you need to in order to make sure the end result is unchanged or ride it all the way to defeat. This was one of those cases. I don't think there will be real change as a result...just more of the same. We could have had real change but that would require BO to grow some courage.

Why did we elect a guy who just can't seem to stop back-pedaling and side-stepping? Take your lumps and fire back, you ninny. (Barry from DC is the ninny, not you.)

but go on and complain about phone calls to radio shows.

Thought maybe Obama called in to mention the tragedy of war and death --

or the HOMELESS or IMPOVERISHED in this holiday season????

Support for an anti-abortion fanatic is disturbing, but even more so since I

now know he was considering him as VP!?

Let's also be clear about the male supremacist Vatican and U.S. Catholic Bishops

who are acting in their own self-interests in trying to regain control over human

sexuality, birth control and abortion. The MAJORITY of Catholics disagree with them

and ignore them.

In fact, Catholic women have just as many abortions as any other women.

And, further, Catholics support by a majority of 70%++ a government run health program --

and a majority of Catholics believe that within that plan -- or a private plan --

CONTRACEPTION AND ABORTION SHOULD BE COVERED.

The right wing religious movement/GOP inspired is as fake as their "teabaggers" and

everything else they do -- and it will still be FAKE when Pelosi adopts it into the

Democratic Party!!!

This is an overwhelmingly liberal nation -- a reality that the corporate press works to

keep hidden!!

54. Yeah, I think I know what you're saying...
Obama conned the country into voting for him by promising "change" and "hope", and then proceeded to prop up the status-quo and give away even more to the corps (at our expense). So it's hard to see such a snake and a liar as the lovable, fun-loving, cutesy guy he pretends to be. It just comes off as smarmy and self-serving. GW tried to be all cutesy too, and it made most of us want to puke. If someone really uses you and fucks you over, there's really nothing they can do that will be funny to you. So yeah... I feel the same way.

And there's also an element of arrogance in Obama's little act that detracts from the humor. He calls into this show as "Barry from DC". It's pretty obvious that he's thinking, "Wow... it'll really blow them away when they find out who I REALLY am!". Self-importance disguised as humility. More calculated play-acting to impress the rubes. For those who see through his con, his shtick is growing very thin.

25. I accept your no pity emoticon
and understand and fully understand I'm not the only one, but just to be accurate I was never a huge "deer in the headlights" fan of "Bipartisan Obama". I wanted someone to come and kick ass because of the control we would have in government. Bipartisanship wasn't going to get that done, but there was no way I was voting for McSame.

- tin foil hat on

I also just posted on another thread that it doesn't seem to matter who's in power anymore as the "Agenda" never seems to steer off course. I actually fear our political system is "theater" for the masses and that there's a predetermined course we're all headed towards. Government is just a distraction and someone, some group, owns our country and is at the steering wheel.
