Why I am thankful for Obama
Obama has not started one war illegal or otherwise; read children's books throughout any terrorist attack; ran around hiding like a coward in the face of disaster; conducted staged photo ops on ships or at his "ranch"; set up free-speech zones for any of his appearances; implemented color-coded terror alerts; issued simple-minded ultimatums; allowed TRILLIONS of tax dollars to vanish into thin air without question; stolen one election nor been installed into office; barbarically beheaded people and pasted their pictures on the front pages of news papers; or even embarassed us by exiting the wrong door and looking like a total moron after completing a speech, or after falling off a bike or injuring himself with a pretzel.

Despite his competence--something we can no longer take for granted in a president--there is endless criticism of him. He just gives speeches. What did Bush do? He couldn't even give a speech. He doesn't lead. Neither did Bush. Cheney and Rove did while he hid behind their coattails. He isn't doing anything. Neither. Did. Bush. He took more vacations that any body in history who lived in the White House.

As one caller said on the radio today on the Stephanie show, where do you think we would be and what would we be talking about if McCain/Palin had won?

Get a grip people.

5. Unfortunately people have short memories these days
worse the Republicans have become skilled at exploiting that weakness.

7. That's setting the Bush a little low, don't you think?
Or beating around the Bush. Whatever--anytime you're using the worst pres. in history as your benchmark, that's not a good sign.

8. It may seem that way but the contrast between the two makes me grateful
that we have moved so far away from the "low" Bush.

10. I would hope Obama aspires to be more than "not Bush".
But he certainly seems to be satisfied with that these days, unfortunately.

11. I am not sure what Obama aspires to be as this thread is not about his personal thoughts
or emotions.

This thread is about the FACT that Obama is lightyears beyond Bush and the fact that I am very thankful for that.

12. You may be satisfied with him being "not Bush", but many of us are not.
Particularly considering he promised to be much more.

14. Saying War is Peace & serving up shit sandwiches instead of Health Care doesn't fly with me or
most of the people in this country.

McCain/Palin is just more of the same which makes your argument totally lame.
