One of the seven habits of highly successful people is to see the end first.

Had we seen that the end should be affordable health care for all and kept our eyes on that goal we would not cheer lead this insurance reform bill.

We all must remember that having health insurance does not mean you will have affordable health care or any health care at all.

I feel certain that we all will regret this bill was ever created the way it is. We will regret it because it does nothing about the problems of people not having affordable health care.

We will regret it because we are going to have even less political clout in the future then we do now.

Just saying, I hope I am wrong. But my instincts tell me we are heading in the wrong direction.

1. I'm with you. Unfortunately, the people are being lulled and duped again.
And it's just SAD beyond belief because there's NOTHING that you and I can do about it.

It's like watching a slow train wreck. :(

If the body count is really high enough, they change a few rules. Eventually.

We have to maintain the tally of Americans killed by these policies. Make sure it's always clear that this outnumbers every terrorist attack, and our current wars.

Don't let up on the body count until we win.

Meantime, soldiers killed get the bayonet in the ground with their boots and helmet. What do medical policy victims get? What's the clear, easily providable and duplicable symbol of those deaths? When we have that, we can haunt the murderers.

2. Nobody likes this bill
The insurance giants are having to swallow just enough real reform that they know the gravy train is coming to a halt.

Patients hate it because now there is no alternative to the insurance giants that have been neglecting them to death for decades while extorting all the money they could.

Doctors hate it because they know they'll still have to waste time on the phone justifying everything a sick person needs in the way of tests and treatments.

Progressives hate it because it leaves all the same scumbags in place.

Conservatives hate it because those scumbags won't be able to run those outfits like monopolies any more.

If we want anything better, we have to teach everybody around us that the reason it's bad is because of CONSERVATIVES in both parties, that we'll never get anything better as long as the Senate is lousy with CONSERVATIVES.

3. Agreed. This bill is worse than doing nothing.

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

5. Watch the industry spend $millions not just on lobbying against any fixes.
But also on GOP congressional candidates.

7. Why don't you look at the end further down the road? After the billionaires
are taxes and after the amendments are agreed too and after the signing statements are signed. After changes are made down the road.

God most of you want this to be a perfect plan from page one. It doesn't work that way.

You are not looking at the end. You are looking at the very beginning, just like so many on this board.

8. Those who will get taxed are those who have an employer health care plan.
They are no longer taxing billionaires. There are going to tax you!.

9. So we create a reason to undo what we are about to do! Very good!
I do not get that kind of reasoning. Eat a piece of shit and maybe we'll give you some real food next time.

If you have an employer sponsored health care plan you will be taxed on it. If you don't have insurance you will be forced to buy it.

Either way you will have less to spend and no real assurance you get treated if you go to the hospital or doctor.

Smart, real smart!
