3. Done, but some are hard. If you support single payer, doesn't that mean you oppose forcing |
|
people to buy policies? But it is nice to see the (early) general pattern of responses.

The only thing different is WHO you are forced to pay, govt or private. That is why the split is so wide and the topic so heated.

Unlike most internet polls, this one is being seen by someone who has a voice in this debate. So far, only 428 people have taken this poll, so your voice really can make a difference.
DO IT!

|
"intern" for Bernie. Seems they wouldn't credential Bill right away for some reason or other so Bernie helped him out and named him an intern. That way Bill has access to get around to do what he does best. Another reason to love Sanders... Got this info at HuffPo by the way..

20. Classic example of a push poll. Worthless. |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 06:26 PM by stopbush
The second question is:
"If you oppose the Senate bill, do you think it goes too far or not far enough?"
Option 1 - Too far Option 2 - Not far enough
You have to check one of the options or it won't tally your other responses. Well, what if you don't oppose the Senate bill? You shouldn't answer the question, should you? Yet, not answering the question prevents your vote from being tallied. Where's the option for "I support the Senate bill?"
Stupid...and obviously biased toward people who oppose the bill. It's called a push poll...which means it's worthless.
Of course, none of you noticed that because you all oppose the Senate bill so you all voted on question 2. That just shows how insidious the poll is. Those who support the bill are forced to vote that they oppose the bill to have their votes count. Most - like me - will choose not to vote in the poll because of this obvious bias, and that serves to reinforce the anti-Senate bill echo chamber ("oh, look at the results. EVERYBODY opposes the bill!").

It would have been nice to have done a little more programming, here to allow a blank or an N/A option, but it is not misleading unless, when the final results are posted, the total of both those responses is different from the votes opposed.

32. Results after my vote: |
|
As you may know, the Congress is considering major changes in the country's health care system. Based on what you have read or heard about the Senate bill, do you generally favor it or generally oppose the legislation? Favor 483 Oppose 1453
If you oppose the Senate bill, do you think it goes too far or not far enough? Too far 290 Not far enough 1645
Community health centers provide primary health care, dental care, low-cost prescription drugs and mental health counseling on a sliding-scale basis. By treating patients before they get sicker and end up in hospital emergency rooms, the centers save Medicaid billions of dollars. Do you believe community health centers should or should not be expanded? Should be expanded 1749 Should not be expanded 187
A proposal to provide comprehensive affordable health care for all Americans to replace for-profit private insurance plans is known a single-payer. Do you support or oppose a single-payer, Medicare-for-all program? Support 1654 Oppose 282
Do you support or oppose a provision in the health care bills preventing health insurance companies from dropping coverage for people who become seriously ill? Support 1811 Oppose 125
Do you support or oppose a provision in the health care bills requiring all Americans who do not have health insurance to get it? Support 688 Oppose 1248
Do you think the government should or should not expand Medicare to cover people between the ages of 55 and 64 who do not have health insurance? Should 1538 Should not 267 Unsure 131
Do you support or oppose a provision in the health care legislation requiring large and mid-sized businesses to provide health insurance for their employees? Support 1319 Oppose 617
Thinking about the health insurance that is available to you and your immediate family, do you think the proposals in the Senate bill would change things for the better, change things for the worse, or not make any real changes at all? Change for the better 282 Change for the worse 736 Not make real changes 654 Unsure 264
Which comes closer to the way you feel? Government reform of the nation's health care system is necessary to control costs and expand coverage. OR, Government action on health care will do more harm than good. Is necessary 1545 Will do more harm than good 312 Unsure 79
