We voted for change. This is clearly not the change we voted for. |
|
An end to America's illegal occupation in the Middle East and healthcare FOR ALL was the change that many voted for and worked for in this past election. Is it time to express via mass protests (like the Iraq protests) that real changes be made. We could arrive in D.C carry suitcases with signs that read, Obama, Perform or Pack.

and where the government enforces payment is the definition of fascism. I'm still for improvement, if possible, but by not voicing our opinion, only corporate interests and the un-informed have a say. The left has been pushing and defending this bill, all the while giving up one thing after another. At some point we have to draw a line. This to me is worse than the status quo. My line is drawn. This is borrowed from another blogger who said it perfectly. "It is not my job to make our elected leaders look good. It is my job as a U.S. citizen to make them act well." And that's what I'm trying to do. And I truly believe, if this is passed, Democrats won't have a chance with power again for a generation. The Republicans will point to this monstrosity and rightly say, "See what they did to you." And this will not be incrementally improved. If they can't get something good now with the polls where they are and all the pressure on, then nothing magical is going to happen in two years to make them see the light. The polls back me up on this. The public does not want this bill. They do want what was being pushed six months ago. To pass this bill is not only the wrong thing to do, it's not smart politics, either.
Since you continue to insult people who helped put Obama in power and obviously are blinded and can't see things objectively, I see no reason to address you politely next time. Asshole:)

Which will probably happen BEFORE the 2014 start date on any of this shit.
Just like the "oversight" on the credit card companies that have raised interest rates beyond the point where anyone would want to actually USE them.
Carte blanche to the medical and insurance industries.

The 15% above med costs doesn't mean a *ucking thing.
The Medical and Insurance Industries work in conjunction to escalate costs.
Until we have a PUBLIC OPTION, that has enough weight and power to NEGOTIATE RATES, like Medicare does, the costs will continue to escalate.
It is a house of cards.

in line with the rest of the world. The U.S. ranks 37th; France ranks #1 in the world's health systems. Does this bill replicate the successful countries model? Is France planning on replacing aspects of their system with the designs in this new bill? I don't think so.

you have nowhere to go in 2010/12. he isn't worried about minor defections. they know what they're doing. he'll begin wooing you starting in Jan. and it will work.
it is no longer realistically possible for a liberal to get elected and be allowed to bring meaningful change. if you want liberal policies, then pressure congress for publicly-financed elections -- and good luck, because that isn't going to happen.
face it. our country's best days may well have ended when your parents were in their prime.
