Police allege that karate-coach cop sexually abused girl, from age 12, for 8 years
THEY SAT there together, the 12-year-old girl and the 38-year-old man, alone in a van in sprawling Fairmount Park.

He made the first move, exposing himself to her, asking her to touch him and then to perform oral sex on him, she later told police. When she recoiled, clearly overwhelmed, he took her home.

A week later, they returned to the park. This time, there were no polite requests, she said.

The man in the van, a Philadelphia police officer named Tyrone Wiggins, ordered the girl to remove her pants, then raped her while she cried, the police allege in court documents viewed by the Daily News.

Disgusting. And the Philly police hid this case for quite awhile while this bum continued to teach. I've known a number of cases where martial arts instructors abused children. (I studied martial arts for a near 30 years). Parents should never ever leave a child alone with an instructor, coach, etc., I don't care how much you think he's a good guy. These people hold tremendous power over kids and can easily manipulate a kid.

2. very true. note that in WA state
the brightline age of consent is 16 (15 and 14 when the other person is close in age), but for people in a position of POWER over the juvenile, the age is 18.

of course, this guy will get no sympathy in DU cause he never directed rosemary's baby :)

5. Color me surprised.
Philly cops are pretty much scumbags. I'm surprised the greasy human tree-stump shilling for the FOP these days hasn't waddled in front of a camera to defend this creep yet.

6. Must have rubbed off on some of the surburban cops
We have this gem today.

A Ridley Township police officer has been fired and a warrant issued for his arrest after he allegedly hit a Wawa manager(female) who requested proof of age when he bought a tobacco product, authorities announced yesterday.

Brian Decker, 33, of Swarthmore, was off-duty when the incident allegedly occurred. He has been charged with harassment, simple assault, and making terroristic threats, said Michael Mattson, spokesman for the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

The termination was unanimously approved at a township commissioners meeting last evening, said Commissioners President Robert J. Willert. Decker had been on the Ridley force since 2002, and Ridley Township Police Capt. Charles Howley said there were no previous problems with him.

"We do not condone this type of behavior," Howley said. He said the victim "was right" when she asked Decker for identification.

Mattson said his office has learned that Decker has checked himself into a medical facility and will turn himself in after he is released.

11. Then there's the cops robbing drug dealers.
Then there's the cop talking about TNS (typical n*****r shit) to a Temple student.

Then there's the cop roughing up someone who his son rear-ended.

Then there's the cop assaulting a girl in a gas station, then having other cops come by to try and pressure the store owner to give them the security tape (I admit, I could be confusing this with the case above).

Then there's the cop who shot another kid while drunk because his white trash son was fighting in the street.

I don't know, but it's enough bad apples for me to not want to have to deal with them, and wonder if I really want to call them for anything.

7. That's not very fair
Being a police officer in a large city like philly isn't a walk in the park, LEOs need protection through the FOP because they can get in trouble for just doing their job.
