Catholics in Philadelphia archdiocese aren't going to Catholic hospitals to have babies |
|
Just saw an article in the Catholic standard, stating that there are now only two Catholic hospitals that have ob-gyn clinics in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The others have closing due to lack of business.
I wonder why? /Shrug
Can anyone POSSIBLY give me a hint? /Sarcasm

2. Catholic hospitals can't even pretend to serve the needs of women |
|
and it's church doctrine that the mother should be sacrificed to safe the fetus.
I know it's the last place I'd go to deliver a kid.

3. Because they would let you die on the table rather than save your life... |
|
... even if the fetus was a brainless hulk with an inside-out skull?

4. Idon't know but all the Pgh. Catholic hospitals closed years ago |
|
because they weren't making any money. This was back in the mid 1980's!
I do know they had difficult keeping Docs because they didn't have the money to keep up with new technology. Docs all want to be able to have the latest equipment to work with and if one hosp. doesn't have it they will leave and go to one that does. Especially in large cities where the competition is fierce.

A friend of my daughters delivered her 4th child and she was only 19. She wanted her tubes tied but they wouldn't do it because it was a Catholic hospital. She later went to another hospital and had it done. Oh, and she had to get a different doctor as he was Catholic and told her she was too young to have this done as she and her husband may want more children later. I would say the number of children should have been left up to her.

My doctor refused to perform the same procedure on me at a Catholic hospital, and I was 35!
She said she wasn't against it per se, but it was hospital policy to bring matters like that before a BOARD, so if I wanted my tubes tied, I would have to find another doctor, because that was the only hospital she worked out of.
