Indiana couple adopts pugs (owner committed suicide they were on their own 2 weeks)

By John Keenan

It was “When Harry and Sally met Franklin and Foxy” at the Nebraska Humane Society this morning.

An Indiana couple, who brought their own two pugs with them, arrived to adopt the two pugs who police say fed on the body of their owner after he killed himself.

The couple, who declined to be identified, drove all night from South Bend, Ind., to pick up Harry, a 3-year-old male pug, and Sally, a 3-year-old female.

The couple was selected from more than 250 individuals or families from across the country and Canada who were interested in adopting the dogs.

The couple has owned pugs for several years. Their current pugs-in-residence are Franklin and Foxy.

“(The woman) grew up with pugs,” said Nikki Harris of the Humane Society.

“Her parents used to breed pugs, so she's very aware of the health problems that pugs can have. They already had two pugs and had been looking to rescue two pugs . . . prior to this story happening. They have a lot of experience with the breed.”

5. "Where was the wife?" Where was WHO's wife?
It sounds like the guy who committed suicide lived alone.

Very unwise and uncharitable of him not to think of the future of his dogs if he were to do that. What a sad story. I mean, it's good the dogs will have a new home, but the story is awful.
