I watched the Sarah Palin/Oprah interview for the first time today. I want to know what other people who watched the interview on the original airdate or for the first time today thought. In terms of the first segment of the interview in which Palin discussed her daughter’s pregnancy, the media’s reaction to the issue and some other stuff I think either Palin was being untruthful or she is much more stupid than I thought she was. I do not see how any person running for Vice President would think that their making a D in a course years before would be a bigger scandal than their daughter being pregnant while still in high school. My main thought was has she been living under a rock. Did she not pay attention to the last few presidential elections in which the candidates academic achievements or lack thereof were discussed less then their personal issues.
In the second segment Palin tried to claim there was a double standard in the way the media treated her and her family in regards to the cost of their clothing. It was not a double standard in terms of the media talking or making a big deal about where her clothes came from and who did her hair. In the 2004 election a big deal was made about the amount of money John Kerry spent on his clothes. I remember people talking about how much Kerry paid for his suits and other clothes. In the 2008 election some people made a big deal about how much John Edwards paid for his haircut. One of the major stories of the 2008 election was the $400 haircut John Edwards received.
It seems that the rest of the interview was just a bunch of fluff. Besides the discussion of the Katie Couric interview there really did not seem to be very much else. The only thing that seemed to be anything when she discussed resigning as governor of Alaska and trying to blame others for her resignation.
So in the end it seems that Palin just tried to blame the media for most of the problems she had on the campaign trail. During the interview I thought to myself no wonder the McCain campaign staff has claimed the book was pure fiction. Most of what she said on the Oprah Show today was inaccurate.
So what did other Duers think? What were your impressions of the interview?

but I know this much about Sarah Palin -- she has the classic love-hate relationship with the media. She goes out of her way to do stupid stuff that gets the media's attention, which she craves, but then when they do pay attention, she complains that they're treating her unfairly. Her base, who have been brainwashed to death about the 'librul media,' eat this stuff up, rushing to the defense of their victimized queen.
I think she's suffering from quite a few personality disorders, and I fully expect her to completely crack sometime in 2010.
