| So this afternoon I decided HCR isn't at the top of my priority list |

Don't get me wrong, I have passionate feelings about the subject and they were eating me up...
But then I was given a reality check.
A colleague of mine mentioned he was giving a coffee-maker to another person at work. I aked why...just curious.
Turns out this other person has been trying to put together a survival package for a young lady (21) who left an abusive relationship with her 2 children...aged 15 months and 5 months. She left with nothing but the clothes on her back and her kids.
They've set her up in an apartment for ninety days, not a stick of furniture to start but the donations have been gradual...a bed, a table and some chairs...
In the grand scheme of things HCR is important, but right now my thought is that there are people whose lives are affected by immediate circumstance. I've decided to put politics on hold for the next few days...
I stopped by Target and picked up a gift-card and a stuffed animal for Christmas. Over the next few days I'll package up some un-needed stuff...extra slo-cookers etc.
That stuff was going to goodwill for a tax-deduction....now we'll just cut out the middle-man.
All I'm asking is that we all step back and take a deep breath. We can all go after HCR when it gets to committee.
