The Enemy of My Enemy...
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 08:15 AM by berni_mccoy
aka Jane Hamsher's New Friends, you know the ones she went on Fox News to talk to...

Are you sure you want to join forces with these people?

13. I know what you are saying.
The problem is one of association. In stressing an association instead of her message to Fox viewers is to give a false pretense of a shared view of the problem. She does not share a view the government is taking over the private sector but the other way around.

And yes, they aren't about dissent -- but putting her in with that category YOU are trying to silence HER DISSENT.

I shouldn't even have to post this, but it's more for the people who don't see your blatant attempts at marginalizing a voice that goes against the lockstep demanded by Rahm and his minions of *change*.

YOU and the other shrill chorus HERE are the PROBLEM. YOU are taking the WORST forms of marginalizing done by the repukes and applying it to REAL Democrats. REAL progressives who BELIEVE in the value of DISSENT.

Obama says he agrees with McClurkin and Warren and Palin and Bush that my family should not be equal to yours or to theirs. And that is that. So they are all the same, according to Tail Gunner McCoy. Gotcha.

30. Why not post pics of Obama with the religious righties?
because it's the same thing - he makes common cause with people who advocate second class status for homosexuals in the U.S. he reaches out to the haters on the right.

he has no problem with people who deny science to claim they are "cured" of their homosexuality by a flying spaghetti monster.

he makes common cause with the insurance cos who don't give a fuck about American's health.

he makes common cause with bankers who think they are the only ones who matter when they are the ones who fucked up the financial system.

if you want to play that game it can go both ways.

And after, when he continued to do so. Your 'should not have' words are empty hot air. You stood with McClurkin in every way that matters. Many here attacking Jane also defended the use of McClurkin. Some said it was to prove his 'bona fides'. Now they claim any association is definitional. So that means McClurkin, hired to be sole speaker and surrogate for Obama, defines Obama. According to the rules you are putting forth. Are you ready to be associated with Uganda, because it is just a degree away at this point. One hair. I'd tread lightly when your associates are involved in attempts at genocide, kid. I'd think very hard about taking up what you are taking up here. Very hard indeed. Donnie accused our community of 'trying to kill our children' and you stood with him. Obama stood with him.

so I can not make that judgment, and you are certainly not invited to put words or anything else in my mouth, understand?
I said your tactics are vile, and that by the rules you are setting, Obama=McClurkin. I said nothing about Hamsher, whom I do not read nor see on TV. I spoke of you, McClurkin and Obama. About Obama's deep associations with people who attempt to incite violence against my family and community, people who are doing just that in Uganda as well.
So your evasions are what they are. But people can read, and my criticism was of YOU not some blogger I do not know. This is McCarthyite bullshit of the most pernicious kind, and that is my point. Cheap, dangerous and stupid political tactic.

47. If you don't understand the issue, perhaps you should research it before speaking about tactics
Hamsher has suggested enlisting the Teabaggers in the Progressive cause to kill the Senate Health Care Bill. If that weren't bad enough, she went on Fox to promote this idea and had her petition linked on Fox's website. Those are VILE tactics. Exposing them, as I have done, is not. This is not a guilt-by-association. She is actively recruiting Teabaggers.

This is McCarthyite crap. I'm talking about what you are doing here, your actions stand alone, they are not mitigated by what others do or do not do. Deal with it.
The very lack of respect in your exchanges is the proof of where your views of others lie, Bernie. You speak to me as if you thought of me as a child or an inferior being of some sort. I write clearly and you return twister spin snark. On a subject of life and death and equality, your style is 'gotcha' word games and that is more telling than any prose you are capable of producing.
Your style leaves you naked for all to view. Honest brokers get snarked at. Points made are ignored and words are put into other people's mouths. The thread is here for all to read. And your style is bad politics, Bernie. This is not how it should be done. If you have a point, make that point.
But Obama picked a hate speaker as his surrogate. So good luck with your tactic. It is a real winner, worked for Joe McCarthy.
