Man Killed Neighbor For Playing Same Song One Too Many Times
A Bulgarian man has been sentenced to 16 years prison for the murder of his neighbor, who he says played the same song, at top volume, constantly, for more than a week.

Croatian Times reports that 45-year-old Alexander Alexandrov snapped after hearing Robbie Williams sing Angels constantly played by neighbor Martin Kromov.

1. On the one hand, it was wrong to kill his neighbor.
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 10:14 AM by closeupready
On the other hand, who hasn't been in the same kind of predicament? Seems almost like Gitmo style torture.

23. I thought of Gitmo too, as soon as I read this article
Of course this man probably just couldn't stand the music. What likely repelled the inmates at Gitmo was the image of Britney, Lil Kim, or Christina's gyrating pelviss and darting tongue.

2. If this place were not so humor impaired.....
...I'd be tempted to just say "sounds like justifiable homicide to me" and NOT add the disclaimer "just kidding". Most places it would be obvious....

5. Robbie Williams?
Oh, this is definitely justified.

And I thought mine was bad with the same fucking Black Crowes song on repeat.

11. See here's how I dealt with this in reality
It was a while ago, but it undoubtedly still works.

When I lived in apartments my next door neighbors were young student types who stayed up very late and often played loud music till the wee hours.

I asked politely for them to stop. When they did not I complained to management, who did teh form-letter and forget thing.

Now I'm an opera nut personally, so I borrowed a friend's powerful amplifier, turned my speakers to their wall, and got into the habit of playing a best of Maria Callas CD at about 240 watts per channel every morning at 7:00 am when I left for work.

Took five days tops. No more loud music when I needed to sleep. No more loud music when thy did...

24. I did a similar thing in a similar situation--but not opera--stravinsky's "rite of spring" and the
"jupiter symphony" and various bach organ works. took three days.

What the FUCK are you doing splitting apartments into every smaller rooms and inviting 3 and 4 people to rent at a time? Sheez. Greedy-ass scumbags. :eyes:

7. The same song at top volume 2,000 times in a week or so?
I'd reduce that to manslaughter and recommend early parole with good behavior.

27. one holiday season, worked in a place where the manager played the same damned (short) c/w cd 8hrs
straight, days in a row. pleading, threats, suggestions for other music, did nothing. finally I brought a portable player, and a lot of pagan music, and just kept playing it until the other stopped.

turnabout is fair play.

30. If this were ruled justifiable homicide (and happened in the US)
All DJs at 99% of all radio stations would have to fear for their lives.

The only problem I ever had with another person's music was in college. "Scoob," a white guy from Leavenworth, Kansas, who looked and acted exactly like the main character in the music video, "Pretty Fly for a White Guy," liked to share his hip-hop music with the rest of the floor of the dorm I lived in. I found two things that could beat that back and be more annoying: Mariachi Music (one of my majors was Spanish, and mom used to give me tapes of mariachi music... to inspire me), and music that had more bass... and as it turns out, Danny Elfman's songs from the movie, "Beetlejuice," had a shitload of bass.

Scoob soon learned to respect the rest of the floor.

31. ...
Panic on the streets of London
Panic on the streets of Birmingham
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again?
The Leeds side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself
Hopes may rise on the Grasmere
But Honey Pie, you're not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
But there's Panic on the streets of Carlisle
Dublin, Dundee, Humberside
I wonder to myself

Burn down the disco
Hang the blasted DJ
Because the music they constantly play
Says nothing to me about my life
Hang the blasted DJ
Because the music they constantly play

On the Leeds side-streets that you slip down
Provincial towns you jog 'round
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
HANG THE DJ
