For the sake of my nephew who is in Bagdhad,
I'm gonna go with world peace.

1. Right now?
Pretty much that I can get out of driving down to Mr. Brickbat's family get together because I'm afraid a blizzard will strand me there. And there's no alcohol in the house.

4. That's a no brainer
I wish my wife doesn't die from alcoholism and gets clean and sober and back to health.

World Peace is good, too.

8. In the face of so much egalitarianism, I am going to be selfish -
I wish my family - my wife, my self, even our pets - could remain as happy as we have been this past year. I have never had such a wonderful time in my life as I have had at this short end of it, and I want much more of this stuff.
I also wish it for everyone.

On a more selfish and insular scale - for the Tories NOT to win the coming year's General Election in Britain.

19. That my sister could get her home back
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 12:17 PM by FirstLight
I just talked to her last night and it is done...they had to move nd are 'squatting' right now, housesitting for a month and then who knows...

At least a dozen friends and business associates are in the same boat...house payments long past due, banks calling 5 times a day and being downight Cruel...It's not like these people bought too much house or over extended themselves...they have lived in their homes for years and one quite well...but the shit hit the fan and NOBODY has RECOVERED.

The "housing crisis" has NOT been adressed... and NOBODY is talking about the fact that MOST of us lost everything in tat little 'stock market dip' from fall '08...and economic recovery doesn;t mean people get their life savings BACK,does it?

I wish I could just STOP the financial runaway train that is mowing down the people I know and love.
