What would be the most popular legislation Obama could introduce?
What issue burns the most in people's minds and has the most public unanimity on?

That's what you use to dismantle the filibuster, the most popular law you can find.

And then you push it like the Republicans do, constant and obsessive repetition from every Democrat.

It's not a sure-fire plan but it gives you the best shot, IMO.

Beginning at age 18 and paying $200,000 yr, plus free healthcare. Yeah, that's the ticket!

(I'd take 40 acres and a mule)

4. There must be something
Off the top of my head, I'd say a windfall profit tax on the corporations who have outsourced our jobs coupled with an income tax for the working and middle class.

12. Yes, the anger at this sector right now would make it easy if there was political will
which there may not be as this is the source of the politicians' donations.

6. Legalization of Marijuana.
If the facts are fairly presented, which never happens with anything, it would be an obvious choice for legalization. It doesnt kill people, the only harm from it is being caught. The pukes should be on board because of all the money that could be made. Extra billions in taxes and saving billions in wasted spending without raising taxes.

8. Real reform of healthcare?....Or...
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 11:57 AM by Armstead
Sorry, could not resist.

But in a serious vein, actual anti-trust legislation that would curb further monopolization and start to encourage a revitalization of a truly competitive and responsive grassroiots free-enterprise system.

That didn't sound very sexy as I described it. In a simpler way I'd say "Kick the ass of the Corporate Oligarchy."

or something like that.

9. I was unaware the executive branch introduces legislation.
I am aware the executive branch tells members of its party in Congress what it wants proposed.

11. I meant "introduce" as meaning the idea, concept, not as explicitly as it sounded..
Poor choice of words on my part.

In the same sense that Kennedy began the Moon race.
