More On Obama and the Public Option
For those that are discussing whether or not Obama campaigned on the public option you might want to read this article. In the article the author discusses the things Obama campaigned on when he was running for president. In the piece the author points out that Obama did not mention the public option that much in public, but it was always in his campaign white papers. The article goes on the list a number of things on which Obama campaigned on which are not in the current Senate health care bill.

1. Ah, who cares anymore. He is a politician
As long as the pro-war camp stops crying about the Afghan war escalation promises, I wont give two shits about the promises he didn't fulfill. Why? He is just a politician. They say what they must to get elected.

Politicians, their families, their smiles, and the little letters next to their name should have no bearing on an objective analysis of public policy.

2. I don't fault him for not getting the plan he campaigned on
Of course I knew he'd have to compromise. That's the way the government works.

He should own it, though.

3. Denying he said something worked for Bush because...
...his cheerleaders didn't care one way or another. If Bush told them that spending is out of control, they'd cheer. If he spent like a drunken sailor they'd cheer.

This is no accident. Obama is trying to pull that crap with us.

5. You've lowered the bar on Obama to the point that...
...he won't disappoint you. I haven't.

Perhaps you and your bangees are simply saying that you saw through him from the get go--he's just another slick politician--who only says what he needs to say to get elected and has no intention on sticking by his principles.

Now you go.
