My Simple Solution to Health Care Reform |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-24-09 08:11 AM by louis c
(1). Repeal the Anti-Trust Exemptions for all Insurance and Pharmaceutical Companies.
(2). Have the Health Insurance and Pharmaceutical Industry regulated like a utility, needing government approval for an increase in premiums.
(3). Grant subsidies and tax breaks to consumers in a way similar to energy consumers.
(4). Give extra tax breaks to employers that provide Health Care as a benefit to their employees.
(5). Increase Mediaid susidies

2. Doesn't this Box Repukes into a Corner? |
|
Doesn't this include more competition and tax incentives? Isn't this just what they preach?

Without a good example, they will still continue to rape us like they have done for 3 decades, since daddy ray-gun set all this bullshit in motion to happen.
Look at banks. They all collude so that no matter what bank you go to they will all rape you equally the same. fees may differ, but the raping is the same!
Competition only works if people compete. If they divy things up, it's no different than gang-land chicago or NY. Each gang agrees to handle X Y Z.

5. I notice you forgot to mention how to pay for it, or how to unwind the already |
|
existing monopolies? BTW none of your suggestions mention how to get medical care costs down either.
They'll just band together and charge the same pricing (too high) then give "rational" reasons for insurance being so high and so similar one to the other. Don't believe me, drive down any thoroughfare in the US and I'll bet the gas prices from one end to the other are within $.03 of each other and yet they are not considered a monopoly. It will be the same with health insurance.
The ONLY way to do all that needs to be done is to provide Medicare for all.

7. Nothing will change as long as insurance companies are allowed to sell |
|
policies for health care. It should be against the law. But good luck getting that law passed.

8. IMMEDIATE price drops in drugs sold in the US -- to the lowest level the same |
|
drugs are sold elsewhere in the world.
Regulation of the drug cartels to the point that the CEO of each company has to put a request in - in writing - to go to the bathroom. AND no more executive washrooms for them -- use the same loo as the proles.
