When I said Hamsher enlisting the Teabaggers was a bad idea, I was a called a cheerleader and no one listened.
When I said Hamsher's going on Fox News to speak to the Teabaggers, have her petition listed on the Fox website was wrong, I was called a paid shill for the insurance industry (and many other terrible things) and no one listened.
Now she is working with Grover Norquist, which isn't just a bad idea, it exposes her at best as an attention monger, at worst as someone who is out to defeat Democrats and HCR altogether.
Now she is threatening to run a candidate against Bernie Sanders, which exposes her at best as someone who is out to defeat Democrats and HCR altogether, at worst, well, I don't even want to say it.

Call me what you will, but I hope you are listening now. Hamsher has gone down the path of destruction. I hope people here do not follow her.

My recollections are very much unclear and I have virtually no recollection of her before she had reached great notoriety. I know you know much more about it than I do.

I may have been wrong in citing her as a parallel example to Hamsher, but my view of Hamsher is not influenced by that ... so it kinda doesn't matter.

I'll agree with you. When they stop reaching across the aisle, inviting everyone to the table except progressives. When Rahm apologizes for telling the world to ignore the left.

But if you accept Obama's philosophy that 'there are no Liberals, there are no Conservatives, everyone is an American' then it is hypocritical when a citizen talks him at his word.

For the record, I never liked Obama's philosophy. Always thought going on Fox, as Obama and many Democrats do, was giving them credibility. And I don't like associations like Lieberman et al or Norquist. But you can't condemn one person for doing these things, and give a pass to politicians just because they are Democrats. Either it was wrong and delusional for the WH to conduct this debate by reaching hopelessly across the aisle, or it wasn't. I'm for consistency of the rules. Everyone abides by them, no passes for anyone.

Hamsher worked with Democrats and tried hard to get Congress to keep the promises made regarding healthcare and to listen to those who got them their majority. Until Democrats betrayed their base. She didn't go to Fox or anyone on the right, until we were basically told 'no one cares what you have to say'. I would not have done things the way she has, but I understand the reasoning. What's good for the goose is good for the gander or vice versa.

So, either you don't like it when progressives are not invited to the table but Republicans and homophobic pastors and anti-women politicians are, or you cannot credibly criticize someone else for using the same tactics.

Edited to add: I don't think people should be unrec'ing this thread, it's an opinion we don't agree with and opinions should be discussed, imho. But that's just my opinion, so ignore it if you disagree.

because you feel betrayed. You think she's a traitor in the ranks. Well that's how some of us feel about Obama. And I am not even being glib. But I doubt you were ever a big Hamsher fan because she must be too far left for you. Also, I have continued to listen to every single voice that was pushing against Bush for those horrible eight years. I may not agree with what Hamsher or one of them does-but I don't question their motives. I actually believe that Olbermann, Micheal Moore, Rachel Maddow,Ed Shultz, Arrianna Huffington, Howard Dean, Markos Daily Kos, to name a few are the same people and believe the same things. I don't think they are traitors because they no longer believe in what Obama is doing.

But I literally have no idea who Obama is or what he believes. And I hope people don't blindly follow Obama and listen to all voices. Because he certainly has far more power than Jane Hamsher or any blogger.
