I Think There are Two Senates...
There's the REAL Senate where compromises between competing corporate interests are worked out in a bipartisan, collegiate atmosphere behind closed doors...

Then there's the Public Face of the Senate where the above compromises are sold to us as the best that could be done within the extremely partisan, 60-votes-if-you-count-Lieberman framework.

And, as has been said elsewhere, it’s not even good kabuki anymore.

They talk a mean game in front of the cameras then hang out together afterward.
