Scandinavian blend coffee from Trader Joe's, and a piece of cinnamon coffeecake from the Corner Bakery (the huge cake was a client gift that we divvied up and gave some to the mailman and some to the print shop nextdoor). My older cat is lying quietly on my lap, farting.

How's YOUR morning going?

1. Merry Christmas, Kestrel!
That sounds DELICIOUS!

I am getting ready to go to family shortly. Apparently my aunt made a chocolate raspberry dessert. I can't wait!

2. wish everybody drank organic
it's sickening to realize what's happening to the forest canopies in so many coffee growing areas....industrial "sun" coffee that kills off bird habitat and pours $$$, pesticides, and fertilizer into rivers, streams, ocean

and as you know (but many people don't seem to realize) "fair trade" does not mean "organic"

only "organic" is ecologically sustainable, by preserving the "rustic" growing methods & forest canopy

ps: i have sent countless emails to Anthropologie

i think someone high up in their corporate hierarchy is a birder

everything has always had a bird theme, their website, clothes, etc.....

i have begged them, year after year, to market organic, bird-friendly coffee around the holidays

never get any reply

I'm on my third cup and thinking about pancakes or huevos rancheros for breakfast. It's a gorgeous, sunny morning in coastal norcal! All the kitties are either out prowling the yard or laying in sun beams around the house. :hi:

5. Lovely.
I slept late, made a pot of estate Assam tea with organic milk and Florida Crystals sugar. I made some Bob's Red Mill organic steel-cut oats, threw in some wheat germ, ground flax (all Bob's), pumpkin spread (TJ's)and a banana and some frozen, wild blueberries (TJ's). Paired that with a hard boiled, local, organic egg. Can you tell how healthy I feel?
I have nowhere I need to be until 4pm, when I'm invited to the local diner by the owner to join his extended family and a few friends for a Christmas feast.
I'll go do my dishes now.

7. Got some chicken breasts out of the freezer for dinner,
counted kitty-noses (all seriously snoozing), and surfing the channels looking for something to have as background noise while I finish laundry :)
