Some questions about the healthcare bill & voting along partisan lines |
|
Why have the past two votes in the Senate fallen strictly along partisan lines? Aren't the Republicans supposed to be the champions of business & corporations? Why would they vote - to a man/woman - against a bill that some claim is a giant giveaway to the insurance companies? Every Democrat (plus independents) voted for the bill; does this mean the positions have swapped, with Democrats now serving as the party of corporate toadies? Is this all a Jedi mind trick conspiracy to throw factions of the Democratic party into turmoil?
I realize this is probably throwing gasoline onto the fire, but doesn't this fly in the face of the 'logic' employed by those who dwell in negativity over passage of historic legislation?

1. Right now they're voting against things ONLY because Democrats are for those things. |

This "health insurance reform" bill is perfect for them, though. It enriches their corporate masters, and they will get to blame it on the Democratic Party when the American people figure out what a raw deal they have gotten. I am sure the Republicans are thrilled.
Kill the bill. Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.
