Salvation Army Major Shot in Front of Children (Little Rock)
Source: New York Times

Arkansas police are looking for two men who shot and killed a Salvation Army major in front of his three young children on Christmas Eve outside the organization's community center in North Little Rock.

Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper says two men accosted Philip Wise and his children -- ages, 4, 6 and 8 -- about 4 p.m. Thursday. He says one man pulled a gun, demanded money and then shot Wise.

Wise's wife, Cindy, also a major in the Salvation Army, was inside the center and called 911.

North Little Rock Police Sgt. Terry Kuykendall calls the shooting a tragedy for the community. Wise had worked in the neighborhood for three years, helping run youth programs, a food pantry and church services.

4. Finally, I'm glad we still allow terrorists to be tortured if we just "render" them to another
civilized country that doesn't share our "values". So when they catch those pieces of human excrement who shot this man, I suggest they be rendered ASAP to Syria or Lithuania or Egypt or Bagram or wherever it is we're doing our remote torture nowadays. These guys deserve it.

And Merry Christmas.

This is a story about a tragic murder of a man in Arkansas, right in front of his three small children.

To do such a thing in front this man's children when Mr. Wise's intent was to contribute?

I'm just heartbroken. I could just cry.

Edit: Does anyone know the motive yet?

16. Stories like these almost make me reconsider my stance against the death penalty.
The assholes who did this will get what's coming to them, eventually. If not in this life, then the next. Karma is a bitch.
