"Christmas" is over. Gone for another year. |
|
In one more week, the "winter holiday season" will be over as well.
In the spirit of "All Politics is Local", it's time to look forward. Time to forget the bad feelings of the last year. Time to put your anger over that bumper sticker or that conversation you heard the fat lady at Walmart having with her husband while he was watching NASCAR behind you.
It's time to forget, and forgive. Maybe not tomorrow, but surely when you wake up on 01/01/10 I would hope that you could strive to have a different, better outlook on what the future might hold. Maybe your BIL, SIL, FIL, OR MIL deserves the chance to speak with you without past transgressions being taken into account, and without their political ideologies shaping your perception of what they say before they say it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about forgetting or forgiving the transgressions of the past that were hurtful, murderous, or torturous, nor should you forget or forgive those who perpetrated those things. I want to see WAR CRIMINALS brought to the justice they deserve.
I'm talking about things within your own little sphere. Make it a point to wake up on New Years Day happy.
There has to be a "renewal point"; a "start over" point. Let it be 01/01. Shed that which affects your life to the extent that you can. Look around you, and find those who can't shed those bad things affecting their lives and do what you can to mitigate their bad situation. Share your good thing with them to the extent that you can.
There are bad things people go through that no amount of good "feelings" can change. I know that. Life goes that way. Would that I could change it, but I can't.
2010 is a new year. In a sense, a "new beginning". Put it to good use.

4. Do you live inside? Do you have enough to eat? Do you have someone who loves you? |

Be thankful. There are so many people in the world that wish they walked in your shoes.
Obviously, I'm not sweetness and light at all times, but I remain humbly grateful for the blessings in our lives, and I hope that next year is better for all.

6. My Christmas has one more day to go. And I'm getting tired. |
|
It's boxing day today. Charades, more drinking, darts tournament, bonfire, fireworks. More games dug out from the game closet. the 3rd and final day of festivities. Love it but phew.

7. Rec. We have had a very happy year and will keep the happiness |
|
in our home and lives as much as we can. We have had some bad times in the past, and really value these good times more as a result.
