Maybe making every 5th vote count as a kick?

Maybe it's just me, but I think voting on a poll shows some degree of appreciation for a thread.

Discuss.

2. Pollvotes change substance more than a routine kick. How about a regular kick for votes?

Besides, a "weak kick" needs more programming than kick.

In addition, (on edit here) a recommend ought to be more powerful than a mere textual kick in terms of advancing it in the queue (even though I recognize the function of recommends on the greatest page).

The reprogramming that would do it all for my purposes or proposal here would be that any change to a thread, whether it be a pollvote or a recommend or a kick, would have the effect of launching the thread to the top of General Discussion or in whatever forum it is located...

3. It would be a negligible amount of programming. The vote total is already calculated.
All it would take is an "if". In pseudo-language:

if (vote_total MODULO 5) equals zero:
        Kick;

You could make the kick "harder" or "weaker" just by changing 5 to another number.

4. Wanna kick a poll? Post in the discussion. You have that
option. Most of the polls on DU are not worth kicking. The ones that are get a lot of posts, along with the poll votes, and stay kicked.
