Bidens unexpectedly visit Walter Reed

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden on Christmas Day made an unexpected visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

The couple attended the hospital's annual Christmas Day dinner,helped serve food and spent time thanking patients and their familie sfor their military service.

Afterwards, the Bidens visited with patients and families in the Intensive Care Unit who were unable to attend dinner.

The Bidens were expected to spend Christmas in Wilmington, Del., the vice president's hometown.

1. Why Do Washington Reporters Conmtinue to Write the...
...story as they receive it? The word "unexpected" is a giveaway. I EXPECT these "expected" visits, during the holidays especially. The "unexpected visit" is a regular event.

2. They had wounded vets over for Thanksgiving dinner at their home.
The Bidens have big hearts.
