One passenger who was sitting in the same row as Mr. Abdulmutallab, but on the right side of the plane, apparently hurled himself across a middle row of four seats to tackle him. The passenger who hurtled across the aisle was Jasper Schuringa, a filmmaker from Amsterdam, a friend of Mr. Schuringa said Saturday. A senior airline executive said that flight attendants also jumped in.

Mr Schuringa dived over four passengers to reach Abdul Mutallab's seat, and saw the suspect had a blanket on his lap.
"It was smoking and there were flames coming from beneath his legs," Mr Schuringa said.
"I searched on his body parts and he had his pants open. He had something strapped to his legs."
Mr Schuringa tore a flaming, molten object which resembled a small, white shampoo bottle off Abdul Mutallab's left leg.
He said he put out the fire with his bare hands.

He didn't worry about politically correct silliness or do an analysis of geopolitics, he just kicked some ass and took some names.

And he's Dutch. I like that.

3. I take nothing away from this guy's bravery...He deserves praise
But geebus, BSG, to suggest others seeing a flaming material on the man's lap and his attempts to hide same, would not act out of fear for political correctness is the ultimate in BS....Seemingly buying into the RW talking points that paint liberal/progressives as "weak."
